We have established an ethnomedicinal garden on a two acre plot at the Agricultural Station at Madagadipet.
About 250 medicinal plant species were planted all over the site. Walkways were created and extensive painted stone signage was installed at various places. Ponds were created and planted with wetland vegetation. Arbours and trellises were created using indigenous medicinal plants. Mosaics have been used to create colourful, comfortable seating for visiting groups. Also, stabilized earth technology was used to build an entrance arch. Two old buildings belonging to the Department of Agriculture were transformed into an interpretation centre with a library and database on medicinal plants.
